Munro Smart BoxTM Systems & Pumps (Grand Vista Hotel)
January 23rd/ 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM $50
Participants will learn the proper wiring of a Munro Smart BoxTM, understand its operation and gain knowledge on troubleshooting a pump system with a Munro Smart BoxTM. Basics on controls & pump applications will also be discussed. This year’s training is being hosted by Gail Mueller, Munro Pumps Product and Quality Management Director and has been with Munro for 21 years.
Filters & Filter Systems (Grand Vista Hotel)
January 25th / 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM $50
This class is offered to promote an understanding of the different irrigation filters and filtering systems in the market today. The trainer will also cover how to maintain and troubleshoot these systems and how to determine the best filter or filtering system for your application.
Best Installation Practices and Irrigation Troubleshooting (Grand Vista Hotel)
January 30th / 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM $50
In the morning we will cover pipe identification, proper solvent welding techniques and irrigation component installation. In the afternoon we will cover electric valve & controller troubleshooting practices. Please bring your multimeter.
HDPE Fusion Training (Grand Vista Hotel)

Scott Smith is the Sales Manager for the Dillon Company and has been selling Plastic Pipe, Valves and Fittings for 22 years. He is passionate about HDPE and will bring experience and knowledge on the following HDPE topics:
- History of HDPE Fusion Pipe – Common applications, Pros & Cons of HDPE Fusion
- Explanation on SDR Ratings – Common SDR vs. Less common SDR ratings
- Types of connections – Butt Fusion, Electro Fusion, Socket Fusion and Mechanical Fittings
- Will Demonstrate operation of fusion equipment – Butt Fusion, Electro Fusion, Socket Fusion
- Will talk about fitting choices – SDR Ratings, Fabricated vs Molded Fittings
IQ2 TM Hardware, Software and Communication Training (Grand Vista Hotel)
February 20th / 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM $50
This class will teach students how to program and operate the ESP-LXME and ESP-LXD controllers, how to communicate remotely via the IQ2TM software and discuss the various communication protocols available.
Turf Two-Wire Field Decoder Training (Grand Vista Hotel)
February 27th/ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM $50
This class will begin with a basic overview of the design and setup of a two-wire decoder system and continue with an in depth discussion of how to troubleshoot problem areas. Students will setup a decoder system in class, test it for functionality and continue with the troubleshooting process.
Soil Health & Erosion/Stabilization Solutions (Grand Vista Hotel)
March 1st / 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM $50
This class is being taught by Seth Urbanowitz with Colorado State University and he will discuss the process and importance of building organic matter and humus in soils to allow nutrient uptake for plant material to achieve a healthy landscape. Seth will also cover stabilization solutions for soil erosion and soil building products.
Turf Controller Tech Overview (Grand Vista Hotel)
March 8th / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM $50
This class is an overview of available and upcoming monitoring and control devices for turf and landscape care. We will also discuss a variety of controller manufacturers to assist with identification in the field.Information on how and when to use rain/freeze sensors on Hunter & Rain Bird controllers will also be discussed.
PondGardTM Pond Liner (GJPipe Central Warehouse)
March 6th / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM $50
Paul Amos with Firestone Building Products will cover installation techniques, types of liners, features and benefits, error prevention techniques, and much more! Students will learn proper seaming techniques and the nuances of applying primer and butyl tapes. Additional topics will include sealing around pipe penetrations, obtaining a compression seal against concrete substrates (both above the waterline and below the waterline), patching damaged liner, adhering PondGard to substrates such as wood or concrete, and perfecting inside and outside corners in small, hard to get to areas. Upon completion of the teaching material, there is a 30 question test. Participants receiving a 70% or greater on the test, will receive a certificate from Firestone verifying their completion of the class and knowledge of the installation techniques.
RAIN BIRD® Golf Central Control (City Hall)
