Best Install Practices & Irrigation Troubleshooting (Grand Vista Hotel) - January 17th / 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - $50

In the morning we will cover pipe identification, proper solvent welding techniques and irrigation component installation.  In the afternoon we will cover electric valve & controller troubleshooting practices.  Please bring your multimeter. 

Growing Your Business with Drip Irrigation (Grand Vista Hotel) - January 19th / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM - $50

This class will be taught by Richard Restuccia, Vice President of Landscape Solutions at Jain Irrigation.  He has been associated with the green industry for over 17 years and is a regular presenter at conferences such as WaterSmart Innovations and the Irrigation Association.  This class teaches students the basic skills and beyond for drip irrigation. Time will be spent discussing the wide use for drip irrigation components, setup and management protocol of irrigation systems for indoor growers and investigating opportunities for the increasingly popular indoor growing market.  After lunch students will gain marketing ideas to increase sales using water management.  Social media trips and tricks will be covered as well as specific products that reduce installation time.

CLA-VAL Control Valve Maint. & Troubleshooting (Grand Vista Hotel) - January 24th / 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM - $50

John Tedder has 30 + years of field and classroom experience with Cla-Val Automatic Control Valves.  He will provide installation, maintenance and troubleshooting information on pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves and electronic control valves.

Filters & Filter Systems (Grand Vista Hotel) - January 26th / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM - $50

This class is offered to promote an understanding of the different irrigation filters and filtering systems in the market today, how to maintain and troubleshoot these systems and how to determine the best filter or filtering system for your application.

Soil Health & Erosion/Stabilization Solutions (Grand Vista Hotel) - January 31st / 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM - $50

This class is being taught by Darren Klotz & Ron Whiteman with Bowman Construction Supply and will discuss the process and importance of building organic matter and humus in soils to allow nutrient uptake for plant material to achieve a healthy landscape.  They will also cover stabilization solutions for soil erosion and soil building products.

Low Volume Irrigation & Installation (Grand Vista Hotel) - February 1st / 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - $50

This class will present the pros and cons of low volume irrigation equipment selection as it pertains to water source, plant material, life of system, longevity of equipment, filtration requirements, initial cost vs. long term maintenance costs and application rates vs. ET requirements.  We will also discuss best installation practices to aid in speed, quality, use and maintenance.

PondGardTM Pond Liner (GJPipe) - February 2nd / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM -    $50       

Paul Amos with Firestone Building Products will cover installation techniques, types of liners, features and benefits, error prevention techniques, and much more!  Students will learn proper seaming techniques and the nuances of applying primer and butyl tapes.  Additional topics will include sealing around pipe penetrations, obtaining a compression seal against concrete substrates (both above the waterline and below the waterline),  patching damaged liner, adhering PondGard to substrates such as wood or concrete, and perfecting inside and outside corners in small, hard to get to areas.  Upon completion of the teaching material, there is a 30 question test.  Participants receiving a 70% or greater on the test, will receive a certificate from Firestone verifying their completion of the class and knowledge of the installation techniques.

Backflow Preventer Installation, Repair & Maint. (Grand Vista Hotel) - February 14th / 9:00 AM -12:00 PM - $40

This class will cover backflow preventer selection, identification, installation, repair and troubleshooting. 

Turf Two-Wire Field Decoder Training (Grand Vista Hotel) - February 21st / 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM - $50

This class will begin with a basic overview of the design and setup of a two-wire decoder system and continue with an in depth discussion of how to troubleshoot problem areas.  Students will setup a decoder system in class, test it for functionality and continue with the troubleshooting process.

Turf Controller Tech Overview (Grand Vista Hotel) - February 22nd / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM - $50

This class is an overview of available and upcoming monitoring and control devices for turf and landscape care.  We will also discuss a variety of controller manufacturers to assist with identification in the field.

Landscape Lighting Design & Overview (Grand Vista Hotel) - February 23rd / 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM - $50

This course will cover the benefits, basic definitions, design techniques and practical guidelines which are helpful and necessary in the design and installation of a low voltage landscape lighting system.

IQ2 TM Hardware, Software and Com. Training (Grand Vista Hotel) - March 2nd / 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM - $50

This class will teach students how to program and operate the ESP-LXME and ESP-LXD controllers, how to communicate remotely via the IQ2TM software and discuss the various communication protocols available.

RAIN BIRD® Golf Central Control (City Hall) - March 7th / 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM - $50

This class is an open forum and will concentrate on clarifying aspects of the golf software as the student base requires.
